- Why is Subaru Cruise Control Light Flashing on My Car Dashboard?

Will report back with results of filter and MAF. 2012 Subaru Outback-I was driving about 60 mph and the check engine light came on and traction light and the cruise control and brake light started blinking. I tried taking the gas cap on and off no luckily. I saw some things on here about checking a fuse, any specific ones i need to check. The check engine light is there to help you, and you need to listen to it.
Can a Loose Gas Cap Trigger Check Engine Light?
The oxygen sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases, helping the engine’s control system adjust the air-fuel mixture. A faulty sensor can lead to decreased fuel efficiency and increased emissions. Replacing the sensor generally requires accessing it from underneath the vehicle and disconnecting the electrical connector before installing the new one. I have a 2008 Subaru Outback Wagon 2.5i and the cruise control mantle light is blinking and the check engine light is on sold. The gage put it on the computer and it reset itself.

Whenever the Subrau cruise control light starts flashing on the dashboard, the cruise control has malfunctioned or disabled. Hence, do not turn on the cruise control system. If the light starts flashing after getting gas, locate a safe spot and pull over. It could be you did not secure the gas cap properly.
Causes of the Engine Check Light and Cruise Control Light Issues
Going to replace the air filters see what that does. If that doesn't help, I'm going to replace the MAF sensor and see what that does. They all came on at the same time when I was driving today, seemingly out of the blue. I haven't had any other issues besides a tire pressure light on. Pretty sure that one of the tire pressure sensors is bad but I haven't gotten around to it as it doesn't seem that important.
Diesel engines make louder noise and emit darker-colored smoke than petrol engines. While a puff of black smoke may seem normal with diesel engines, a cloud of black smoke should be a concern.

In most cases, this is caused by a blown fuse in the engine compartment fuse box. Note that these steps are general guidelines and may not cover all possible causes for the issue. If you’re unsure or uncomfortable performing the diagnosis yourself, it’s recommended to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic who specializes in Subaru vehicles.
"Check Engine" There’s nothing fun about these two words. Once the check engine light pops on the dashboard, the car computer is telling you that something... Let’s be clear here; this does not mean that the PCM must disable the cruise control whenever it detects an issue with the engine or transmission.

Thanks to all on here for your previous posts and helpful hints. My 2010 Outback 4cyl just passed 103,500miles. I had the 103K mile service done about a month ago and all was well.
Why is Subaru Cruise Control Light Flashing on My Car Dashboard?

I'm a good 45 minutes from where I'm staying tonight... I'm in a tight spot - I have ZERO cash to do anything to it.. Zero (was looking for work - then my (rental - no insurance) house burned down - now homeless - not a good "life stage" I'm working with, here, one could say). Is there another way to go about checking to see what might be wrong with it other than getting codes read?
It is worth mentioning that similar issues have been reported by other Subaru models, indicating that this is not an isolated incident. Regular maintenance and servicing are vital for keeping the vehicle in optimal condition and avoiding potential engine-related problems. Remember, it is always important to address any warning lights promptly to ensure the continued safe operation of your vehicle.
The most common reason why the cruise control light is flashing on your Subaru is due to an electrical or mechanical problem. Remember, when the light is flashing, the cruise control system is disabled, so don’t try to turn it on because it won’t work. By staying informed and proactive, owners can confidently enjoy their vehicle while minimizing the risk of unexpected issues. Owners can also alleviate some concerns by familiarizing themselves with their vehicle’s manual, as it provides valuable information regarding warning lights and their significance. This knowledge can help identify any potential issues early on and prevent further damage.
Subaru Outback check engine light flashing, cruise control, and traction control light blinking can all come up due to engine performance issues. Contact your mechanic to proffer solutions to the problem. The cruise control system consists of several electrical systems protected by a fuse. The fuse can blow up if there’s an electrical power issue, preventing the key components from failing.
It is advisable to have your Subaru Impreza diagnosed by a qualified mechanic or take it to a Subaru dealership. They will be able to connect a diagnostic tool to the car’s onboard computer to retrieve the specific error code(s) stored in the system. This will help pinpoint the cause of the problem and allow for a proper repair or maintenance.

Under perfect conditions, the brake lights shine as you depress the brake pedal. There’s a component attached to the brake pedal — the brake pedal switch, which tells the brake lights to light up as you depress the pedal. You can activate the system by pressing the cruise control button and the vehicle will keep you at the current speed.

He’s on his way home now and we will be heading to autozone to get the code checked and report back. I was told that mine was to do with the valve body as well as a locked solenoid. Advised not to drive it and get it seen by Subaru for bulletin recall.
